Mr. Balaji Thirumalai

Balaji Thirumalai is a Partner at Bain & Company and Head of our Semiconductors and Electronics Manufacturing practice in India, a leader in the firm’s Technology and Cloud Services practice. He heads the Semiconductors and Electronics Manufacturing practice in India. His expertise includes semiconductor operations, engineering and R&D, digital transformation, and technology services. Before joining Bain, he held senior leadership positions at Mindtree, SunEdison, Solaria, and FTC Solar. He has extensive experience in business strategy, commercial leadership, and technology-driven transformation. He holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stony Brook University. He is also a co-inventor of three U.S. patents.
