Mr. Akshay Aggarwal

Mr. Akshay Aggarwal is a Senior Director of Technology at MediaTek and is based out of Bangalore. In this role, he is responsible for working on next generation product development with key focus on modem and CPU technology. His current focus areas include 5G NR and 6G, AI/ML in Wireless Networks and CPU technology. With over 25 years of semiconductor industry experience in design engineering, business development and product marketing, he has worked extensively with global R&D teams and several Tier-1/2 customers worldwide.

Akshay joined MediaTek Inc in 2010 and during his 4 year stay in Taiwan he held multiple senior positions in the Wireless Communications Products Group before eventually moving to India and start the Bangalore R&D center for MediaTek.

Prior to this role, he has worked in the United States for several renowned companies including Lucent technologies, Silicon Labs, ST-Ericsson among others, where he was primarily involved in R&D (design engineering) and global marketing roles. Akshay holds various patents and publications and has also presented in multiple conferences.

Akshay graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and pursued his master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh US. He has also pursued and completed the Executive MBA program from University of Texas at Austin.
