Mr. Avinash Avula

Avinash Avula is Country President and Managing Director of Applied Materials India and leads strategic initiatives for the Semiconductor Products Group (SPG) in Asia. As the India head, Mr. Avula leads Applied’s overall business operations in India, which currently spans five sites along with organization’s responsible for R&D, product development, IT and operations. 

Mr. Avula has close to three decades of experience in business, technology development and operational leadership, primarily in the semiconductor and electronics industries spanning the U.S. and Asia across organizations like Applied Materials and DuPont. 

Mr. Avula previously led business and technology development for advanced packaging at Applied Materials in Singapore, establishing the company’s Advanced Packaging Development Center in collaboration with A*STAR. Before returning to Applied, Mr. Avula spent over nine years at DuPont as a Vice President and General Manager leading a variety of specialty materials businesses serving the printed circuit board, assembly, semiconductor and display industries. He previously served as an operations consultant supporting a number of major semiconductor companies in the U.S. 

Mr. Avula has an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an MS in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, from Osmania University, India. 

He is also listed as co-inventor on two patents of Applied Materials.
