Anupam Prakash

Mr. Anupam Prakash is a senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer from the 1998 batch, currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance 

In this role, he is part of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), where he oversees key policy and administrative functions related to customs operations. His appointment to this position is on deputation for a period of five years, reflecting his extensive experience and leadership in tax administration and governance 

Prior to this, Mr. Prakash held the position of Commissioner in the Delhi East GST & Central Excise Zone, where he was responsible for managing indirect tax enforcement and compliance 

He also serves as Joint Secretary under the COFEPOSA framework, contributing to economic intelligence and enforcement efforts 

His career spans various strategic roles within the revenue department, showcasing his expertise in fiscal policy, regulatory oversight, and inter-agency coordination.
