Investment Commissioner Go-Chhattisgarh

Ritu Sain is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2003 batch from the Chhattisgarh cadre, currently serving as Investment Commissioner, Government of Chhattisgarh. With over two decades of experience in governance and policy innovation, she has held key leadership roles in both the Government of Chhattisgarh and the Government of India. 

As District Magistrate, she led impactful initiatives at the grassroots level, including the large-scale mobilization of rural women into self-help groups and their integration into sustainable livelihoods. She also pioneered the Ambikapur Solid Waste Management Model, a nationally recognized zero-waste initiative now replicated across 166 towns in Chhattisgarh. Her broader expertise spans policy formulation, program implementation, and governance in Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas.

A Fulbright Scholar and Chevening Fellow, Ritu holds a Master of Public Administration in Global Leadership from Columbia University and has engaged with leading institutions including Stanford and Oxford. Her contributions have earned her prestigious honors, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, the President’s Silver Medal Medal in recognition of the outstanding zeal and high quality of services and the Election Commission’s Best Electoral Practices Award.
