Additional Secretary & CEO India Semiconductor Mission (ISM)
Mr. Amitesh Kumar Sinha, an IRAS officer currently holds the position of Joint Secretary in Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and leads the Industrial Promotion-Electronics & Hardware Manufacturing Division. Earlier as a Group Coordinator he was heading e-Governance division in the Ministry, responsible for the overall conceptualization and implementation of the flagship Digital India Programs and the National e-Governance Plans.
Prior to this assignment, he worked as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy where he was incharge of the Solar division which led to expeditious solar capacity addition and implementation of several flagship schemes including Production Linked Incentive scheme for setting up integrated plants for manufacturing of high efficiency solar modules, Rooftop Solar, PM-KUSUM etc.
Earlier, he worked as a Director in Cabinet Secretariat, Govt. of India where he was responsible for inter-ministerial coordination and policy decisions relating to various Ministries/Departments of Government of India. As Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Railways he has experiences working across Division, Zonal HQ and Railway Board.
Served in MeitY as Joint Secretary he leads policies and schemes of Government of India, namely, Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing Programme, Production Linked Incentive Schemes (PLI) for Large Scale Electronic Manufacturing and IT Hardware. He is also CEO of India Semiconductor Mission which is the Nodal Agency to implement the ambitious scheme of Government of India for the development of the semiconductor and display manufacturing ecosystem in the country which includes Semiconductor & Display Fabs, Compound Semiconductor Packaging, Semiconductor Design and modernization of Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL) initiatives.
