Biocompatible Ultrathin Hermetic Encapsulation for Medical Devices, ALD-Cap (TM)

2:55 pm - 3:15 pm

Forge Nanos ALD-CAP enables lightweight and implantable medical electronic devices with environmental endurance while also decreasing size, weight, and cost over other hermetic sealing processes. A common solution to improve the reliability of commercial grade electronics is to hermetically seal components in thick polymer, metal, or ceramic enclosures. These increase the size, weight, and cost of the final device. ALD-CAP, is a nanolaminate hermetic seal, deposited via atomic layer deposition (ALD) a 100% conformal thin film. Biocompatible coatings allow for the long-term survivability of devices in vivo while the ultrathin coatings minimize the form factor.
